  Massage Therapy Theory and Practice

Massage Therapy Theory and Practice covers a wide range of topics that contribute to your overall excellence in massage. Examples include:

  • Foundation for Professional Massage Therapy
  • Massage Therapy Theory and Practice
  • Swedish Massage and Conscious Massage
  • Body Mechanics, Body Language, and Body Awareness
  • Advanced Therapeutic Massage Theory and Practice

Our massage method is called “Conscious Massage” which transcends the hands-on techniques and physical-based treatment. This method has roots in Swedish Massage, Integrative Massage and Body Mechanics with a strong focus on professionalism, service and awareness. While Massage Therapy is a physical-based therapy, we also acknowledge other parts of ourselves and our clients. This includes an awareness of our emotional, mental and spirit components …all synergistic parts of the whole, again of both the Massage Therapist and the client. This awareness is an integral part of “Conscious Massage”.

You have the opportunity to learn about the body and how it works from several different perspectives, including the “Language of Tissue”. We teach you how to “know” the pressure and techniques being used are positively affecting tissue, without having to ask the client. You can actually “feel it” in your trained and experienced hands.
