Students give massages as a part of their Massage Therapy training program. Students first learn the full body massage sequence by working with each other in the classroom setting. After that, they must earn and maintain their teacher’s endorsement for permission to participate in the Student Clinic.
The massage sessions are given at the school in private rooms with relaxing music. All the equipment, linens, lotions, supplies and clients are provided for you. A Licensed Massage Therapy (LMT) teacher is available and dedicated to supporting you during your massages with the public.
Clinic Clients have the opportunity to receive a massage while also supporting professional education in the community. With the best interest of our students and clients in mind, we use only unscented natural massage lotion products from a company called Natural Formulations. For information about their products, go to www.naturalformulations.com.
After you graduate and earn your Iowa Massage Therapy license, you may be eligible to continue to offer massages here at the College of Massage and the Healing Arts Center.
