We believe each moment is an opportunity to learn with our success-oriented teaching philosophy. We talk about topics and find ways to “experience” them as well. This helps students integrate the information and make it their own.
We use traditional teaching styles with textbooks, diagrams, demonstrations and tests. But, we also use innovative teaching methods designed for different types of learners. For example, we learn most of the bones of the body in one hour with the “Bone Dance”. And memories of our “Shirt Night” in Business Success class will bring both smiles and groans from any former graduate. Fun is simply part of the plan. We see it, say it, write it, read it, and even color it, too.
There is a picnic bench and park-like green space with trees and grass near the entrance. Some discussion classes have been offered under the tree in the shade on especially nice day when the content of class lends itself to this change in environment and each participant in class is interested in doing this.
Mentoring
Our teachers are definitely not just going through the motions. They are more like coaches or Mentors and really get involved in supporting each student to grow to their next level. The majority of our teaching staff, though trained all over the world, currently live in the local area. This facilitates the ease and possibility of future professional working relationships and mentoring opportunities for our graduates who choose to stay in this community.
